Helpful Tips to Prevent Acne

Acne is a skin problem that usually starts in your teens when we start having hormonal changes. Your body produces an oily secretion (sebum) to keep your skin from drying out. When the oil gets blocked by dead skin cells in your pores, acne will occur. This starts 2 to 3 weeks before it appears on your skin.

Although acne starts the same way our bodies react differently causing either mild acne blackheads or whiteheads to the more serious types of acne Papule, Pustule, Nodule or Cyst to appear. Not only can it damage your skin and lead to permanent scars, but it can also cause feelings of low self esteem and self-consciousness.

Following these 4 simple steps will help your skin to stay healthy and glowing.
Cleansing: Gently cleansing your skin to remove excess oil, bacteria and dead skin cells. Avoid excessive scrubbing, twice a day is enough other wise your skin will become dry and it may produce more oil.

Skin Products: When using make up and other lotions check the product labeling that they are oil free or non comedogenic, as this helps not to block pores. Clean your make up brushes regularly and remove make up before exercising or bed.

Exercise: Regular exercising improves you blood circulation and oxygen levels to your skin cells, it will also reduce your stress levels and help you to relax.
